World: Asia: Afghanistan: Charasiabaka Charasia, a town in Afghanistan, about 12 miles south-west of Cabul. A battle was fought here on Oct. 6, 1879 during the Second Afghan War. It was a British victory and opened the way to the capture of Cabul, the capital. [JT]EMPT: Col. Sebastian fought in the battle of Charasiab, and was cited in the official dispatches.
