[JT]GLOR: The convict ship containing James Armitage had previously been in the Chinese tea trade. Armitage: "The Gloria Scott had been in the Chinese tea-trade, but she was an old-fashioned, heavy-bowed, broad-beamed craft, and the new clippers had cut her out." BLUE: The blue carbuncle was found in the Amoy River in southern China. REDH: Holmes deduced that Mr. Jabez Wilson had been in China. Holmes: "The fish that you have tattooed immediately above your right wrist could only have been done in China... That trick of staining the fishes' scales of a delicate pink is quite peculiar to China. When, in addition, I see a Chinese coin hanging from your watch-chain, the matter becomes even more simple."
