World: Asia: JapanIsland empire in the eastern Asia, est. pop. 50,000,000 [1901]. [JT]EMPT: Holmes had knowledge of baritsu (properly bartitsu), a Japanese system of wrestling, which came in handy at the Reichenbach Falls. GLOR: Holmes correctly deduced that Victor Trevor's father had been to Japan, where he (most likely) obtained his Japanese cabinet. GREE: A suit of Japanese mail was at The Myrtles, in Beckenham.
