A hamlet of eastern Switzerland, the chief community of the Davos Valley, pop. of valley 8,089 (1900). Its excellent climate makes it a desirable locale for consumptives. [JT]FINA: Watson was told that an English lady in the final stages of consumption had arrived at the Englischer Hof. She had wintered at Davos Platz and was travelling to meet friends at Lucerne.
