World: Europe: MeiringenVillage and tourist attraction in central Switzerland, pop. 3,077 [1901]. Located 1,968 feet above the floor of the Hasle Valley on the right bank of the Aar River. In Oct. 1891, much of the town was detroyed by fire. [JT]FINA: From Interlaken, Holmes and Watson travel to Meiringen.
