World: Europe: Britain: London: The Inner Temple

The Temple is the name given to a collection of buildings lying between the Strand and the Victoria Embankment, on the border of Westminster and the City. The Knights Templars first built on the site in 1185. Since 1346, the area has been occupied by teachers and students of law, and since 1609 by two corporations known as the Inner Temple and Middle Temple (Two of the four Inns of Court).

SCAN: Godfrey Norton was a lawyer at the Inner Temple.
