A London bazaar, located in the Strand. This emporium houses pleasant coverd walks between rows of shops stocked with toys and other useful articles at moderate prices. [JT]

FINA: Holmes instructs Watson to take a cab to the Strand end of the Lowther Arcade, "handing the address to the cabman upon a slip of paper, with a request that he will not throw it away. Have your cab fare ready, and the instant that your cab stops, dash through the Arcade, timing yourself ot reach the other side at a quarter-past nine."
